Independent Appliance Dealers Have Surpassed Big Box Retailers in Market Share
Fresno, CA (March 17, 2011) - Ventura TV Video Appliance Center celebrated its 60th Anniversary by heading to Las Vegas, NV to make some of their best purchases ever and attend the record-breaking, February 2011 PrimeTime! Buying Show presented by industry leading, Nationwide Marketing Group.

The show, which took place at the Sands Convention Center at the Venetian/Palazzo Resorts, offered attendees an impressive 200,000 sq. ft. product-packed showroom floor and attracted nearly 4,000 attendees, including over 200 appliance, electronics, and furniture manufacturers.

" stated Shirin as he recalled a recent study by Traqline, an independent survey for the retail industry. According to the reports, Independent dealers are now in first position with 29.9% market share vs. Sears (29.4%), Lowes (19.8%), Home Depot (14.1%) and Best Buy (6.8%).

"The timing of this show couldn't be better, as we were able to make all of our great buys, prior to the major manufacturers' price increases." continued Shirin as he reflected upon recent industry reports stating that all major appliance manufacturers will raise wholesale prices to retailers as much as 10% effective April 1, 2011.

In addition to spectacular savings, the three day event, lasting from February 20-23, 2011, offered dealers a variety of educational courses and seminars presented by the country's leading presenters on topics ranging from in-store operations to online marketing and sales. "I was very impressed with the show's focus on the Internet and e-commerce for the retail industry." stated Ara Catchatoorian, Ventura TV's recently hired E-Commerce Manager. "With recent studies showing that as much as 80% of all consumers go online before going shopping, there's no doubt that this is the future of retail.
